The work:
- Assist in building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines into Splunk for security-relevant logs.
- Learn to configure and troubleshoot data sources, log forwarding mechanisms, and Splunk forwarders.
- Develop and implement data parsing and normalization rules within Splunk.
- Collaborate with security analysts to understand data requirements and log collection processes.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports.
- Monitor the health and performance of the Splunk environment.
- Troubleshoot basic Splunk data flow issues and field extraction challenges.
- Work with cross-functional teams to onboard new log sources.
- Contribute to documentation related to Splunk configurations and log sources.
- Stay updated on the latest Splunk features, security trends, and best practices.
- Assist in security incident response activities by providing requested log data.
- Contribute to improving security operations processes and procedures.
Here's what you need:
- 1 year of experience in IT and/or Cyber
- Bachelor's Degree required (In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted)
- Splunk experience
- Data analysis and/or engineering experience
- Active Top Secret required with ability to obtain SCI
- For candidates relocating to Huntsville a relocation bonus may be available
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with using one or more of the following tools: Microsoft Sentinel, Cribl, Endgame, Carbon Black, Tanium, FireEye, RSA Archer, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, McAfee, Encase, Security Onion, Snort,Phantom, ELK
- Certifications:
- Splunk Certifications
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- SANS GIAC Certifications (GCTI, GCIH, GCIA etc.)
- DFIR related Certifications
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
