Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to architect, implement, and operate enterprise-scale container orchestration platforms within secure cloud environments. This role focuses on building resilient, secure, and compliant Kubernetes clusters that support mission-critical government workloads while maintaining the agility required for modern application delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Design and architect enterprise-scale Kubernetes clusters for multi-cloud environments
- Implement and maintain secure, compliant container orchestration platforms supporting mission-critical workloads
- Develop GitOps workflows for application deployment and cluster configuration management
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for containerized government workloads (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and distributed tracing
- Design and deploy automated scaling, healing, and maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues across multi-cloud Kubernetes environments
- Manage configuration and enforce policy across Kubernetes clusters
- Integrate secrets management solutions (HashiCorp Vault, cloud KMS) with Kubernetes
- Implement and maintain service mesh architectures for advanced traffic management
What You'll Need:
- 3 years of cloud infrastructure experience and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field, OR 6 years of container orchestration and cloud infrastructure experience in lieu of a degree
- 4 years of hands-on Kubernetes administration and architecture design in production environments
- Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes in enterprise or government environments
- Proficiency with Kubernetes distributions (e.g., vanilla Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, EKS, AKS, OKE)
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes networking (e.g., CNI plugins, service mesh, ingress controllers)
- Experience with at least 3 of the below Infrastructure as Code and GitOps tools (or equivalent):
- Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Flux
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA, Sec+, etc.)
Bonus Points if You Have:
- Service mesh implementation experience (Istio, Linkerd)
- Multi-cluster management and federation patterns experience
- Kubernetes operator development and custom resource definition (CRD) creation
- Advanced Kubernetes security implementation (Pod Security Standards, network policies, admission controllers, OPA/Gatekeeper)
- Container image security expertise (vulnerability scanning, image signing, registry security)
- High-performance computing and GPU workload orchestration on Kubernetes
- Zero-trust networking architecture and implementation experience
- Container runtime expertise beyond Docker (containerd, CRI-O)
- Multi-cloud Kubernetes deployment and management experience
- Certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- Cloud platform certifications with container/Kubernetes focus (AWS, Azure, Oracle)
Security Clearance:
- Must have an active Secret level clearance; TS clearance preferred

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
