We're seeking a Senior Business Development Associate (Sr. BDA) to help us generate high-impact pipeline across our highest value merchants, with additional opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects across the business. This is not a closing role—but it is a strategic, outbound-heavy position focused on surfacing qualified opportunities in our highest-value accounts. The ideal candidate has mastered outbound prospecting and is excited to partner with Account Executives on complex accounts, multithread across functions, and open doors with executive-level stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Own outbound pipeline generation for Affirm’s top-tier Key and Enterprise accounts, focusing on the highest-GMV prospects and highest TAS merchants in our respective segments. (Merchants >300M TAS)
  • Partner closely with aligned AEs to build strategic account plans and map stakeholders across payments, eComm, marketing, product, and finance.
  • Leverage tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo and Gong to prioritize outreach, personalize messaging, and drive multi-threaded engagement.
  • Support aligned AEs post Discovery call securing additional meetings, creating executive call briefs, business case presentations
  • Craft compelling, buyer-centric messaging across email, phone, LinkedIn, and event-based channels that speaks to merchant pain points and strategic growth goals.
  • Track activity and opportunity creation rigorously; contribute to a high-output, high-quality pipeline engine for the team.
  • Help test, improve, and scale outbound strategies—including cadences, talk tracks, email copy, and event playbooks.
  • Mentor and lead by example for other BDAs; act as a strategic extension of the AE team.

What We Look For

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5+ years of progressive experience in B2B business development, sales, or a similar quota-carrying role, with a strong preference for experience within SaaS, fintech, payments, or lending solutions.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.  
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of SaaS business models, API integration, embedded lending solutions, and omnichannel payment ecosystems. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-outcome-focused manner.  
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to analyze market trends, identify lucrative growth opportunities, and develop tailored solutions that align with client business goals.  
  • Executive Presence & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build trust and cultivate lasting relationships with C-level and VP-level executives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively.  
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in handling multi-stakeholder negotiations and crafting mutually beneficial propositions for large-scale contracts.  
  • CRM & Sales Tools Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting. Familiarity with sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesloft, Gong) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.  
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to leverage data and analytics to optimize strategies, identify bottlenecks, and drive efficiencies within the sales pipeline.  
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with regulatory considerations in financial services and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) offerings is highly desirable.  
  • Soft Skills: Highly organized with strong project management skills. Possess resilience, persistence, proactivity, creativity, empathy, curiosity, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving market.

Equity Grade - 2

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.

Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, which includes the annual base pay and the sales incentive target.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA On Target Earnings (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $75,000 - $105,000
USA On Target Earnings (all other U.S. states) per year: $66,500 - $96,000
