About Us:

Over half of all current college students in the U.S. are first-generation, and only about a quarter of first-generation students graduate college within six years. Those who do graduate have a median household income 27% lower than their peers. While there are a multitude of college access programs, few ensure first-generation students persist in school and build the skills necessary to prepare for success in their careers. America Needs You is filling this gap and changing these outcomes.

ANY is the national nonprofit connecting ambitious, first-generation college students with transformative mentorship and intensive career development for economic mobility. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in New York City, ANY expanded to New Jersey in 2012 and to Illinois in 2015. Our core ANY Fellows program pairs first-generation college students in a 1:1 mentoring relationship with a Mentor Coach who guides and supports their development. Fellows also learn essential workplace skills. In 2021, ANY expanded its offerings with FirstGenU, a digital program designed to help first-generation college students navigate their careers.
