We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. (Note: For EpiSci job openings, fully remote work will be considered by exception.)
About the role
We are looking for a Vehicle Integration & Triage Engineer who will play a crucial role for our vehicle fleet. This engineer will be the master mind for all vehicle related processes in our growing autonomy team in Stuttgart.
You will own the regular deployment of SW to our vehicles, including troubleshooting issues, both at hardware and SW level. You ensure the same issue does only happen once, by generating a variety of tests &automation for CI, deployment and testing processes.
In addition you will own the vehicle testing and triaging, providing most signal out of each test drive, tightly embedded with a team of exceptional system and software engineers,
You will also participate in the initial build-out of each new vehicle and by that have the chance to know every bit and detail of the vehicles.

At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Be the subject matter expert for Applied’s autonomous vehicles in Stuttgart by building a deep familiarity with all aspects of the system(s)
- Own final bring-up, regular deployment and HW/SW release testing on our vehicles
- Troubleshoot the vehicles systems, computer components, ECUs and sensors performing root cause analysis
- Working to minimize vehicle downtime while focused on safety
- Coordinate or conduct regular test drives
- Analyse and triage the test drive results , to get most signal out of each drive
- Partner closely with the software & system developers to maintain a rapport for rapid and iterative feedback loop
- Automate any repeating task on integration, deployment, testing and triaging
We're looking for someone who has:
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical and creative problem solving skills, with strong drive to ensure the same issues only occurs once
- Familiarity with Linux, Python & other scripting languages for troubleshooting issues & automizing repetitive tasks
- Experience developing software for large projects (CI/CD, release process, etc)
- Ability to read complex C++ code
- Proven ability to read and understand electrical schematics, datasheets & vehicle networking (Ethernet, CAN, etc)
- Experience working with AV Components (embedded ECUs, Gateways, Linux computers, Lidars, Radars, Cameras, GPS, etc.
