VP of Growth Marketing

San Jose, California, United States

Location: Remote, US (HQ San Jose)

Job Type: Full-time

Axiad is entering the Gartner-endorsed Identity Visibility, Intelligence and Posture (IVIP) category with Axiad Mesh—the only IVIP platform that quantifies identity risk in FAIR/ALE dollar terms, publishes pricing transparently, and unifies human, non-human, and agentic identity governance with post-quantum readiness.

We are looking for a VP of Growth Marketing to own the full marketing function: product marketing, brand, demand generation, analyst relations, and category creation. This is not a “make it pretty” role. This is the strategic counterpart to our CRO—someone who personally builds the narrative that defines how the market sees identity security, architects a modern demand engine, and drives measurable pipeline impact. You write the positioning, run the webinar, post on LinkedIn, brief the analyst, and source the customer story. You are obsessed with exposure and repetition—manufacturing volume of at-bats across prospects, analysts, customers, partners, and influencers to make IVIP and Axiad Mesh feel inevitable.

This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer with direct visibility to the CEO and board. It carries a clear trajectory to CMO for the right leader.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own marketing strategy and operating plan across the Axiad portfolio, with primary focus on defining and winning the IVIP category for Mesh.
  • Develop the category-defining narrative, messaging architecture, and positioning frameworks that earn analyst inclusion and resonate from CISO to board level.
  • Personally write positioning and messaging—translate Mesh’s technical differentiation (FAIR/ALE risk quantification, identity correlation, closed-loop remediation) into compelling buyer-language narrative that drives value selling.
  • Lead analyst relations strategy with Gartner, Forrester, KuppingerCole, and Frost & Sullivan. Shape how the market defines IVIP and ensure Axiad is at the center of that conversation.
  • Build a network of partners, analysts, and industry influencers who amplify the Mesh narrative. Create a repeatable motion for earning external validation and third-party credibility at scale.
  • Architect a modern, AI-native demand generation engine—ABM, content, digital, events—partnered tightly with the CRO to hit pipeline and conversion targets.
  • Build and instrument a product-led growth motion at the entry tier to drive land-and-expand revenue for Mesh. Bring a consumer-grade lens—B2C/PLG instincts as a forcing function for simplicity, transparency, and speed in enterprise IAM.
  • Lead new product introduction launches end-to-end: positioning, enablement, PR/AR outreach, sales and channel readiness, and launch metrics.
  • Develop full-year GTM plans in lockstep with demand gen and sales, mapping assets to campaign themes at each funnel stage. Monitor performance ruthlessly—kill what isn’t working, double down on what is.
  • Build sales enablement tools that accelerate deal velocity: competitive battlecards, objection handling, product demonstrations, and sales plays tied directly to deal movement and time-to-value.
  • Personally produce content that builds category authority—executive thought leadership, webinars, LinkedIn presence, customer case studies, contributed articles. Manufacture exposure through volume and consistency, not just quality.
  • Deliver competitive intelligence to the field and marketing organizations. Maintain deep expertise in the identity security landscape, emerging threats, and regulatory drivers (Zero Trust, CISA, NIST, FedRAMP).
  • Operate as a peer to Sales, Product, and the CEO. Contribute to board-level reporting on brand, pipeline, and category traction.
  • Manage and grow the marketing team (currently 1 direct report + contractors/agencies), with the ability to scale the function as the business grows.
  • Leverage AI tools across content, demand, and marketing ops as a force multiplier—operating with the mindset that a small, focused team with AI amplification outperforms a large legacy operation.

Skills and Requirements

  • Marketing experience in B2B SaaS with category-creation experience strongly preferred. Domain experience in cybersecurity, identity, or adjacent infrastructure is a plus—not required.
  • Proven track record personally building positioning and messaging frameworks that earned analyst recognition or defined a new market category.
  • Deep product marketing chops—you can translate complex technical differentiation into language that moves buyers and equips sellers.
  • Hands-on experience architecting modern demand generation programs (ABM, content, digital, events) with measurable pipeline attribution.
  • Track record shipping product-led growth or self-serve trial motions and driving land-and-expand revenue.
  • Exceptional communicator—polished writer, compelling speaker, and comfortable as the face of the company at industry events and in analyst briefings.
  • Native fluency with AI tools across marketing workflows. You know how to compete for LLM visibility and use AI to amplify output, not just experiment.
  • Experience partnering tightly with sales leadership (CRO-aligned) in a revenue-accountable marketing structure.
  • Player-coach mindset—comfortable building and scaling a function from a small team while personally producing the work.

Form CC-305

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
