Position Summary

The Electrical Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for leading projects from pre-construction through closeout while also preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates. This dual-role position requires strong technical knowledge, financial oversight, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Pre-Construction

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed electrical estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and subcontractor pricing
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
• Prepare and present bid proposals and scope clarifications
• Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings

Project Management

• Manage multiple electrical projects from award through completion
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, and field teams
• Monitor project progress, costs, and productivity
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
• Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment

Financial & Operational Oversight

• Track job costs, forecasting, and profitability
• Manage billing, cash flow, and project financial reporting
• Analyze variances between estimated and actual costs
• Ensure timely project closeout, including punch lists and final documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating and/or project management
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and NEC codes
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, or similar)
• Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
