The Opportunity

Step into a key role as a Senior Test Automation Engineer at Beyond Identity's new office in Warsaw, Poland. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter who is driven to find innovative ways to improve the product and platform. You will be results-oriented, passionate in the improvement of the user experience, and a critical and strategic thinker. 

You should possess a "developer mindset" and continuously look for ways to automate work processes and testing to improve cycle time. You must be able to work comfortably in an evolving environment and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress. This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, inspiring trust and confidence in others. You should be interested in learning the environment from a "Systems Level" point of view and be curious to dig into the details of the applications, services, and internal and business processes to provide deep insight to the rest of the team.

This hybrid role requires 3 days per week in our Warsaw office, fostering collaboration and team synergy under the leadership of the Engineering Manager based in Poland.

What You Can Expect to Do:

  • Own and lead the design and execution of comprehensive test plans, utilizing both advanced software automation and strategic manual testing procedures.
  • Drive the identification, prioritization, and implementation of automation opportunities across software functionality and processes to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Influence architectural and design decisions with a strong focus on testability, quality, and scalability of systems.
  • Define and monitor key quality metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, MTTR) to continuously assess and improve software quality.
  • Develop, maintain, and expand robust automated test suites for various components, including APIs, UI applications (desktop, mobile, web), databases, and cloud services.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and certification teams to define testable requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Oversee and perform testing to validate applications, databases, cloud services, and complex hardware/software systems.
  • Proactively identify, report, and help resolve bugs and quality issues throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor for test automation, promoting best practices, tools, and methodologies within the team.
  • Contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of the overall testing infrastructure, tools, and processes.
  • Evaluate and introduce new tools and frameworks that improve test coverage, reduce flakiness, and accelerate feedback cycles.
  • Drive quality in a fast-paced, agile, and distributed environment, championing testing excellence at every stage of the SDLC.

What We Hope You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in test automation or software development, with a strong focus on automation strategy and quality assurance.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust automation frameworks for RESTful APIs and UI applications across desktop, mobile, and web platforms.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with various UI and API Test Automation Technologies (e.g., Pytest, RPA, XCUITest, UIAutomater2, WinAppDriver, Appium, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, RobotFramework, SoapUI).
  • Solid experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments and supporting large-scale cloud infrastructure (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Teamcity, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Azure).
  • Expertise in version control systems, particularly Git, including branching, merging, and release tagging.
  • Ability to create and execute complex SQL queries for test data validation and database testing.
  • Strong cross-platform troubleshooting skills: ability to set up, debug, and test software functionality on Windows, macOS, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.), ChromeOS, Android, and iOS environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying test requirements, designing comprehensive test plans, and overseeing their execution (both automated and manual).

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Experience with Load and Performance testing of Applications and APIs.
  • Experience with Security Testing (Vulnerability Scanning, Security Scanning, Penetration testing).
  • Experience with MDM/EDR Integrations (e.g., Intune, Crowdstrike, and Jamf).
  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes in a microservice architecture environment.
  • Familiarity with SSO Products (e.g., PingFederate, Okta, Azure AD, ForgeRock).
  • Experience with using and integrating with device farms (e.g., Browserstack, Sauce Labs, and Kobitron).
