By targeting these diseases in this novel way, Bitterroot Bio’s mission is to transform the lives of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Research, the candidate will:
• Execute and analyze in vitro studies to characterize biologic drug candidates, including antibodies and fusion proteins, in support of discovery efforts
• Perform cell-based assays using both primary immune cells and immortalized cell lines, including routine mammalian cell culture and isolation of primary cells.
• Independently conduct a range of in vitro assays, including flow cytometry based binding and functional studies, luciferase reporter assays (e.g., Promega systems) and immunoassays (MSD, ELISA and Western blot)
• Contribute to experimental design, assay development, and optimization efforts as needed to improve data quality and assay robustness.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data using standard scientific tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel)
• Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) in accordance with internal standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with research team members to support project goals, troubleshoot experiments, and advance biologics programs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment.
• Prior experience working with biologics (e.g., antibodies, fusion proteins) and supporting in vitro-based research in a drug discovery setting is preferred.
• Experience multicolor flow cytometry is preferred
• Experience measuring Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) using the Octet system is considered a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced research environment, with strong attention to detail and accountability for experimental outcomes.
