
Data Engineer, Healthcare

About the Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Data Engineer to build robust, efficient data pipelines and infrastructure for our healthcare technology platform. You’ll be integral in ensuring reliable data flows between our applications and healthcare systems, enabling aanalytics and AI-driven decision-making
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for healthcare data integration from diverse EMR/EHR sources.
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare standards (HL7,FHIR) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA).
- Collaboration: Partner with AI engineers, software developers, and clinical teams to ensure data readiness and accessibility for analytics.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize database systems and data storage solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Implement monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and proactively resolve pipeline issues.
Experience:
- 4+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years specifically in healthcare technology.
- Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in ETL tools, big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop), SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud services (AWS preferred).
- Healthcare Standards: Familiarity with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR) and integration techniques.
- Compliance: Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and healthcare-specific regulations(HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex data engineering challenges efficiently.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, or a related technical field required; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred — or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting AI and machine learning data workflows.
- AWS Data Engineering certification.

The base salary range for this role is: $140,000-160,000
