Financial Reporting Coordinator
Pay Range: $85,611 - $111,295 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

A Financial Reporting Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Department Accounting Division. The City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Department is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial, operational and management information through a variety of functions. The Accounting Division is responsible for safeguarding the City's assets by accounting for all capital assets owned by the city, ensuring proper procedures are followed in accordance with all grant agreements and ensuring that all City financial transactions have been accounted for accurately and timely, through accurate monitoring, accounting and reporting and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in accounting
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting, including two years of Single Audit Report preparation
- Two (2) years of financial reporting responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Analysis and interpretation of financial and accounting records and reports
- Production a Single Audit Report and related schedules
- PeopleSoft or other ERP software
- Grant Management Experience
- Supervisory Experience
The Financial Reporting Coordinator job responsibilities include:
- Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
- Coordinates the annual Single Audit of the City’s federal and state grants, provides support to external auditors; and develops and communicates timelines for completion of all items required by external auditors for year-end audit
- Coordinates and produces the City’s Single Audit Report in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (2CFR 200) and the Texas Grant Management Standards (TxGMS)
- Solicits, analyzes and compiles responses to the external auditors’ findings and conducts follow-up to ensure implementation
- Assists with establishing and documenting policies and procedures for daily grant management and year end close; ensures proper compliance with established policies and procedures; and analyzes, recommends and implements necessary improvements to internal controls and annual policies
- Performs various technical data analysis and in-depth financial review of issues and analyzes, reconciles and explains significant variance of accounts
- Reviews and approves daily transactions, monthly reconciliations and year-end closing adjustments and accruals produced by Grant Accountants in accordance with City policies and State and/or Federal regulations
- Performs other related duties as required
