
Senior Associate, Asset Management
Job Overview
The Asset Manager (Senior Associate) will be responsible for maximizing the financial performance and long-term value of a designated portfolio of trophy class commercial office, residential, and mixed-use properties in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This includes developing and executing asset-level strategies, analyzing financial performance, identifying value-add opportunities, and managing joint venture relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate finance, operations, and market dynamics, with a proven track record of success in asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee property-level financial performance, budgets, and business plans
- Manage the monthly and quarterly financial review process for assigned assets
- Monitor leasing, capital projects, and operating expenses
- Coordinate with property managers, leasing brokers, and vendors
- Prepare internal reporting packages and variance analyses
- Review and approve property-level budgets and reforecasts
- Supervise and mentor assigned Analyst
- Contribute to asset-level strategy discussions and hold/sell recommendations
- Participate in annual strategic planning and valuation exercises
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field
- 5+ years of real estate asset management or closely related experience with a focus on commercial office, residential, and/or mixed-use properties.
- Strong understanding of property financials, lease structures, and operations
- Proficiency in Excel; Argus and Yardi experience required
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and real estate financial software (e.g., Argus Enterprise).
- Demonstrated understanding of real estate investment principles, market analysis, and property valuation techniques.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and lead support staff
