About the role

Crunchyroll is looking for a Vice President, Corporate Accounting to lead our corporate accounting function. This newly defined leadership role will help ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across our global general accounting and U.S.-based financial operations.

We are looking for a leader who not only brings deep technical expertise but also a people-first approach, someone who values transparency and empowers teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate General Accounting Leadership
    • Lead all aspects of corporate accounting, including general ledger (NetSuite), accruals, intercompany accounting, and fixed asset processes.
    • Guide efficient month- and quarter-end close activities, delivering accurate, timely, and well-documented financials following IFRS.
    • Partner with FP&A to support budget-to-actual reviews, variance analysis, and cost center accountability.
    • Provide expertise on complex accounting issues, offering clear guidance and sustainable solutions.

    Compliance & Internal Controls

    • Oversee SOX compliance for corporate accounting processes, collaborating with auditors and team members to maintain controls.
    • Enhance internal control frameworks around the general ledger, cost allocation, and reporting cycles.

    Audit, Tax & Treasury Support

    • Be the primary liaison with external auditors during the annual audit process.
    • Partner with internal Tax and Treasury teams and Sony Pictures Entertainment to ensure accurate intercompany settlements, compliance, and statutory reporting.

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Build, mentor, and empower a corporate accounting team, fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued.
    • Set clear priorities, KPIs, and accountability mechanisms that enable both team and individual growth.
    • Invest in professional development and champion opportunities for advancement across all team members.

This role follows a hybrid schedule, is based in our Los Angeles office, and reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.

About You

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership, with 5+ years in a senior controller or VP-level role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading distributed teams.
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and financial close operations; working knowledge of IFRS required.
  • Proven success collaborating across borders with non-U.S. financial operations.
  • Proven ability to balance technical precision and strategic vision.
  • CPA required (active or inactive); Big 4 audit and/or public company experience
  • Experience in a multinational or high-growth company.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.
