Learning Experience Designer

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

We’re looking for an experienced Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to join our Client Education team. In this end-to-end instructional design role, you’ll develop and maintain scalable training programs that empower Benevity clients to confidently use our platform and services.

You’ll lead all stages of agile learning development—from needs analysis and design to development, delivery, and optimization. This includes creating new programs and updating existing content in response to product changes, process updates, and user feedback. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional design and visual communication skills, hands-on LMS experience, and a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement. You’re comfortable using AI tools to accelerate development and enhance learning content at scale.

What you'll do

  • Lead the full instructional design process, applying agile methodologies and practices to iterate quickly and respond to feedback and changing needs
  • Design scalable client education programs, while maintaining and updating existing learning assets to reflect product enhancements, process changes and evolving client needs
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate their knowledge, processes, and workflows into clear, engaging client learning experiences
  • Create high-quality, interactive learning content such as eLearning courses, microlearning, videos, toolkits, presentations, job aids, infographics, and animations
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback, performance metrics, and usage data to drive continuous improvement
  • Own and manage Benevity’s client-facing LMS, including content structure, tagging, maintenance, and learner experience optimization
  • Use AI tools to accelerate content development, enhance quality, and increase scalability of training programs

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of instructional design experience, ideally in a SaaS environment with a focus on client-facing education
  • Proven ability to lead the full instructional design lifecycle from needs analysis to development, delivery, and evaluation
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and evidence-based strategies
  • Skilled in developing content across formats including eLearning, microlearning, video, presentations, job aids, and performance support resources
  • Demonstrated visual design skills with a focus on layout, branding, accessibility, and learner engagement
  • Proficient in tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, or similar learning development platforms
  • Confident and regular use of AI tools to enhance content creation, efficiency, and scalability
  • Experience managing and optimizing an LMS for client education, including structure, tagging, learner experience, and reporting
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and working cross-functionally
  • Highly self-directed, curious, and detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills in fast-paced environments
