About the Opportunity
 
We are looking for a Sales Engineer who is accustomed to solving customers’ most complex problems and closing large deals. In this role, you will work directly with the sales team and channel partners to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to navigate winning sales cycles, provide compelling value-based demonstrations, support enterprise Proof of Values (PoV), and ultimately close business.As a Tessell Sales Engineer, you must share our passion for reinventing the data infrastructure and management space, thrive in a dynamic environment, and have the flexibility and willingness to jump in and get things done. You should be equally comfortable in both a business and technical context, interacting with executives and talking shop with technical audiences.
 
Responsibilities
  • Attain deep technical expertise of Tessell DBaaS and its value to customers.
  • Lead solution engineering with activities such as technical discovery, demos, proof of value, presentation, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria; working across a number of opportunities in parallel.
  • Be able to impress customers and prospects with impeccable presentation skills and demonstration capabilities.
  • Work closely with public cloud and ecosystem solutions architects on customer engagements and enable them to technically articulate the Tessell value proposition.
  • Drive Customer Proof of Value to success.
  • Know the major competitive products intimately to showcase Tessell’s advantage in the market.
  • Bring customer feedback and requests for improvements straight back to Product Management and Engineering to make sure we keep building a solution that is highly disruptive and has features that solve customers' problems.
  • Contribute to the team by creating technical content, sharing success stories and best practices with your peers.
  • Grow and challenge yourself with the company by exploring and educating yourself on technical areas that you may not currently have experience in.
  • Help drive demand through participation in both industry-known trade-shows as well as account-based marketing events.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to support and mentor other pre-sales team members and share standard methodologies.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in pre-sales / solution architecting.
  • Experience in open-source databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL desired but not mandatory).
  • Ability to size database infrastructure on the cloud by looking at current customer estate
  • Experience in database migration, performance metrics , benchmarks, comparisons
  • Experience in AWS and Azure clouds
  • Hands-on experience migrating database to cloud
  • Experience with AWS RDS, Azure Managed Instance or equivalent DBaaS technology is an added advantage
  • Be a single points of contact for various projects
  • Have a career in customer-facing engagements.
  • Ability to create content such as Videos, Blogs, and Technical White Papers is an added advantage.
  • Be willing to learn on the job, take responsibility, and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Self motivated, and adaptable to change.
  • Willing to create a long-lasting mark for himself/herself in Tessell and the Industry we represent.
  • Work experience in a SaaS organization is an added advantage.
