Spacecraft Electronics Test Engineer
The Spacecraft Electronics Test Engineer is a member of the site hardware team, responsible for end to end delivery of the electronics and mechanical test aspects of the satellite hardware. In this role you will be responsible for qualification testing for performance verification and validation, product reliability testing and certification aspects of all satellite hardware.
What You'll Do:
Defining and executing test suites to exercise and characterise system and sub-system functionality and ensure all aspects are fully documented and tested.
Working closely with the electronics and mechanical design teams to debug any design issues.
Interface with manufacturing transfer teams to ensure successful transfer of production solutions.
Provide technical training for test procedures and equipment to production and supplier personnel.
Maintain changes and compliance of the test solution technical data packages including hardware & software design, BoM and related procedures.
Use or develop competent knowledge in the required regulations applicable to the development of spacecrafts.
Experience performing pre-compliance radiated and conducted emissions testing against regulatory requirements.
Develop and execute test plans and procedures based on requirement specifications and detailed engineering design specifications and maintain traceability matrix.
Analyse and collate test results and create test reports suitable for further internal analysis and submission for regulatory bodies.
Responsible for ensuring the design complies with regulatory standards.
Engage in project meetings and effective collaboration with the hardware team.
Reporting on the progress of testing.
Be aware of project timelines and contribute to the testing aspect of the project plan with relevant tasks and estimated timescales.
Specification & verification of design for test features to allow efficient production testing of new products.
Devising process improvements to the efficiency of test activities.
Key Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or similar
Knowledge of analog and mixed signal components and concepts (ADC, filtering, decoupling, bias voltage/current generation, etc.) and signal integrity on PCB (matching, reflections, etc.)
Experience with using hardware platforms (e.g. processors/ FPGA/ CPLD) and communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, MIPI CSI, ETHERNET.
Working knowledge of automated test tools and scripting languages such as Python, Perl and C/C++ for lab equipment control and data analysis.
Requirement verification and validation for electro/opto/mechanical software-controlled systems.
Experience of electronic fault finding and ability to debug from the circuit diagram.
Familiar with Quality systems used to logging/recording all results.
Familiarity with test equipment such as spectrum analysers, logic analysers, network analysers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscope etc.
Practical experience of building test systems and testing early stage prototypes and final products.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Automated hardware testing is desirable.
Experience building testing infrastructure for hardware (opto-electronics and electro-mechanical sub-system) and software rigs.
Experience testing for space systems
Experience using a clean room environment
Familiarity with environmental testing facilities like Temperature/Vacuum chambers, Vibration/Shock platforms etc.
Familiarity with external test houses for EMC/ ESD testing, environmental chambers etc.
Knowledge of regulatory standards

Senior Accountant, EMEA
As part of the strengthening its global Accounting and Finance team, Spire is seeking a Senior Accountant to be based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive and passionate about adding value to Spire through strong focus on timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting, process documentation and compliance, and a determination to continue to enhance Spire’s scalability.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible individual, a self-starter, eager to learn and with a willingness to pick up a varied range of tasks. The successful candidate will most likely be recently ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified. You will be a valued member of a small, but growing, global Spire accounting team, reporting directly to the EMEA Controller.
You will have the unique opportunity to join a recently publicly listed company, helping to develop and document the new processes required in a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls environment, and providing assistance with a wide range of tasks which will afford you a solid foundation and understanding of the requirements to succeed and develop in a high-performing accounting function.
What You'll Do:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:
Supporting the delivery of timely, and accurate financial information in accordance with our monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles
Preparation of prepayments and accruals, and other journal entry processing
Collaboration with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and supporting explanations for our EMEA areas
Enhancement of the documentation of our desktop procedures
Payroll & Compliance:
Manage and oversee the UK payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NI, and pension contributions
Liaise with HR and finance teams to resolve any payroll discrepancies or queries
Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings and reports, including Employee Related Securities (ERS) and PAYE self-assessment (PSA)
Ensure payroll journals are correctly recorded in the accounting system
Provide cover for Luxembourg, Germany and Singapore payroll processes
Support various SOX compliance initiatives
Fixed Asset Controls & Process Improvement:
Develop and implement new processes for satellite manufacturing fixed assets tracking and control
Ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets in line with accounting policies
Conduct periodic fixed asset audits
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in asset management, tracking and control
Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
Perform and enhance monthly EMEA balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly
Assist in maintaining a robust financial control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Explore and implement FloQast process improvements, adopting and sharing best practice
Other Duties:
Support finance projects and system improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
Work closely with other departments to improve financial processes and controls
Stay up to date with changes in accounting and payroll regulations, ensuring compliance
Key Skills:
ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience
Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting and finance experience
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, to take on new tasks with varying levels of complexity, in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Experience with fixed asset accounting and process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience of working within the rigorous control environment of listed company requirements is preferable
Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail and pride in presenting financial information in a clear and concise, professional manner
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders across different levels
Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Xero, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
