Commercial Business Development Director / National PFAS Lead

EnSafe is seeking a Commercial Business Development Director / National PFAS Lead to drive growth across private-sector markets while leading the firm’s national strategy for PFAS and emerging contaminants.
This senior leadership role combines commercial business development, national market leadership, and team development. The selected candidate will expand key client relationships, strengthen EnSafe’s market position, and build a high-performing team of Client Directors focused on commercial growth.
This position may be based in any EnSafe office location and operates on a national scope.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth & Client Leadership
- Lead and execute commercial growth strategies across industrial, manufacturing, and corporate clients.
- Develop and expand executive-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Drive strategic pursuits, key account growth, and cross-selling across service lines.
- Maintain involvement in high-value client engagements to ensure delivery quality and long-term partnership success.
National PFAS / Emerging Contaminants Leadership
- Develop and implement EnSafe’s national PFAS and emerging contaminants strategy.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert supporting complex regulatory, technical, and remediation challenges.
- Guide clients through evolving regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance strategies.
- Represent EnSafe as a thought leader through industry engagement, conferences, and publications.
- Integrate PFAS capabilities across environmental, engineering, and compliance practices.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a team of Client Directors focused on commercial business development
- Establish consistent business development practices, coaching, and performance expectations
- Mentor team members in client strategy, relationship management, and market positioning
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented culture
Project & Technical Oversight
- Provide executive-level oversight on complex environmental projects.
- Ensure alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and financial performance.
- Support multidisciplinary teams in delivering technically sound, high-quality solutions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, chemistry, or related field.
- Professional licensure (PE, PG, or equivalent), as applicable.
- 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related professional services.
- Demonstrated success in private-sector client development and revenue growth.
- Strong expertise in PFAS and/or emerging contaminants.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) or a related discipline.
- Experience leading national or multi-region market strategies.
- Recognized industry presence through publications, presentations, or regulatory engagement.
