Senior Software Engineer

At Founda, we are building the global infrastructure for healthcare. Our mission is to redefine how clinical data moves between systems, freeing innovators and healthcare professionals from connectivity hurdles so they can focus on what matters most: patient care.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in advancing this mission. You'll be building a self-service global platform for seamless and secure data exchange between providers (hospitals, labs) and consumers (apps, IoT devices). This is a complex global challenge, involving diverse healthcare processes, fragmented data standards, and varied regulations that you will help solve.

What You'll Build

Here are some examples of the challenges you could be tackling:

• A pre-fetch service that ensures medical images are available on a local PACS device precisely when needed.
• A high-throughput Metrics API to aggregate, store, and expose millions of data points for customer insights.
• A world-class developer experience for our platforms, making integration effortless for our users.
• A data normalization and terminology layer to create a uniform gateway, regardless of the underlying EHR system.
• New, standardized interaction patterns to expand our platform's functional flows.
• A performance-critical service rewritten from Java to Golang for maximum efficiency.

Our Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a versatile polyglot engineer with over 7 years of experience who thrives on contributing to various parts of a platform. Further you: 

• Are comfortable working in a production environment with at least two of the following languages: TypeScript, Golang, or Python, and have mandatory professional experience with Java. 
• Have a proven track record with event-driven microservices in a scaling environment and champion a strong, cloud-native engineering culture. 
• Have a proactive mindset and a clear ambition to grow into a staff-level position, you excel at giving and receiving constructive feedback. 
• Your excellent collaboration skills and sound judgment will be key to working effectively with our teams in India and Europe.
• You are based in The Netherlands and willing to visit our clubhouse a few times a month.
