
Security Consultant- Active Directory- Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.)

Job Summary
GuidePoint Security is seeking an experienced Active Directory (AD) Security Consultant to lead the development of a specialized AD security consulting practice. This role will focus on delivering expert AD security solutions, expanding into complementary cybersecurity domains such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Cloud Security, and leveraging partnerships with key vendors like Semperis, Cayosoft, Tenable, and CrowdStrike. The position requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise to drive growth while addressing the unique security challenges of GuidePoint's clients.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Development:
- Build and scale an Active Directory security consulting practice that aligns with GuidePoint’s mission and services.
- Develop methodologies for AD assessments, health checks, and architecture reviews to address vulnerabilities and improve security posture.
- Establish best practices for AD structure, including forest/domain design, OU hierarchy, delegation models, and hybrid integrations with Azure AD.
Vendor Expertise:
- Leverage appropriate tools from vendors partnered with GuidePoint for AD recovery and real-time monitoring.
- Utilize appropriate tools from vendors partnered with GuidePoint for hybrid AD management and compliance enforcement.
- Apply tool capabilities such as Tenable Identity Exposure to identify vulnerabilities and eliminate attack paths in AD environments.
- Integrate tool capabilities such as CrowdStrike Falcon Identity Protection for advanced endpoint detection and response capabilities.
Cybersecurity Expansion:
- Identify opportunities to expand GuidePoint’s service offerings into related domains such as:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Implement IAM solutions like Privileged Access Management (PAM), Zero Trust, and Passwordless architectures.
- Cloud Security: Provide guidance on securing hybrid cloud infrastructures using GuidePoint’s Cloud Security Framework.
- Zero Trust Architecture: Help clients adopt Zero Trust principles to enhance their overall cybersecurity posture.
M&A Expertise:
- Lead AD integrations during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures by consolidating domains/forests securely while minimizing disruptions.
- Assess the cybersecurity maturity of target organizations’ AD environments to identify risks or misconfigurations.
Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their unique environments, challenges, and requirements across AD security, IAM, and Cloud Security.
- Deliver actionable recommendations through detailed reports and workshops to help clients mitigate risks and improve security posture.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Active Directory security consulting or administration, with expertise in IAM solutions and Cloud Security technologies.
- Proven track record of building or scaling a consulting practice while identifying opportunities for service expansion into related cybersecurity domains.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks during M&A activities and strategies for mitigating them.
- Experience working with vendor tools like Semperis, Cayosoft, Tenable, and CrowdStrike.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE) preferred; additional certifications in IAM or Cloud Security (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty) are a plus.

- Strong technical skills in integrating vendor tools into complex IT infrastructures to enhance security capabilities across multiple domains.
- Strategic thinking for practice growth combined with deep technical expertise in AD security, IAM, and Cloud Security.
- Excellent communication skills for training teams and guiding clients through technical implementations.
