Position Overview
The RFP/RFI Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the RFI/RFP/DDQ effort including the supervision of staff, timely completion of all questionnaires and other data requests, completion of intermediary database updates and oversight of the answer library housed in Responsive. The person in this role will work closely with the entire Distribution team and will regularly interact with investments, finance, operations, compliance and legal professionals as well as senior management. Communication with consultants, data contacts and prospects is an integral part of the job. Interaction with internal personnel and coordination of efforts with parent company is essential.
Success in this role means having a proactive, hands-on, and collaborative attitude with a readiness to take ownership of a variety of initiatives. This individual will need to excel in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and be proactive in establishing productive relationships with key stakeholders throughout the process.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assume ownership of all RFP/RFI activity from inception and effectively coordinate/allocate internal resources for timely completion of requests.
- Maintain tracking in Salesforce for all questionnaires completed and prepare requested activity reporting.
- Manage, coach and develop a team of two, including a Team Lead and Senior Associate.
- Provide ongoing input regarding process and technology improvements and drive scalable solutions. Lead automation and AI advancement in RFI/RFP/DDQ space.
- Oversee question and answer pairs in Responsive to ensure timely and accurate responses. Ensure final product has 100% accuracy in terms of content, grammar and formatting.
- Assist with the writing and editing of new content and consult with subject matter experts to ensure appropriate responses.
- Keep up to date on any changes within the firm or product offerings and reflect in our responses appropriately. Draft responses that strategically position the firm and our products in accordance with the client objectives.
- Build strong relationships with sales professionals, investment staff and parent company personnel related to inquiries from new business prospects and clients.
- Work with Omni as a service provider for database updates.
- Flexibility to work on special projects and other duties as assigned to provide solid client service support to an evolving business.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a finance or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing the RFP/RFI/DDQ process in the financial services industry; investment management experience preferred.
- Prior experience with an implementation and development of an RFP database technology required; experience with Responsive is preferred.
- Exceptional project and people management skills, including the ability to organize resources, manage timelines and delegate responsibilities.
- Excellent communication, editing, proofreading and writing skills.
- Professional, service-oriented and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong detail orientation and superior organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Special requirements:
May be required to occasionally work during off-times (early morning hours and/or evening hours) due to special projects/deadlines. Working hours of the position may also vary from normal business hours and flexibility is key.

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. If hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.
Expected range for this Chicago-based role
$140,000 - $155,000 USD
