Position Summary
The Academic Quality Assurance Officer plays a central role in maintaining and advancing IBU’s institutional academic quality framework. Reporting to the Associate Director, Academic Operations and Quality Assurance, this role is responsible for supporting internal quality assurance systems, accreditation processes, academic policy compliance, and institutional continuous improvement initiatives.
Working collaboratively with the Academic Delivery and Program Support Coordinator and academic stakeholders, the Officer ensures that quality standards are systematically defined, measured, monitored, and enhanced across all programs. While the Coordinator focuses on operational delivery and implementation, this role provides quality oversight, audit, and compliance leadership, ensuring that all academic activities align with regulatory requirements and institutional standards. This role operationalizes IBU’s commitment to academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement by ensuring that quality is not only embedded in policy but actively measured, monitored, and enhanced across all programs.

Qualifications & Application Process:
The successful candidate shall possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in academic quality assurance, accreditation, or higher education administration.
- Demonstrated experience supporting academic QA frameworks, program review cycles, or accreditation processes.
- Strong knowledge of academic quality assurance frameworks, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills, with experience using academic data to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and audit readiness mindset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas), data dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to advancing inclusive, innovative, and high-quality teaching and learning in higher education

This position is based in a hybrid work arrangement, with employees working on-site four (4) days per week and the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come on-site as needed and are expected to reside in Ontario and within a reasonable commuting distance of the office/campus.
