UK Community Manager

Location: Remote UK-based with occasional London meetings. Applications from Scotland, Wales, the Midlands and North of England encouraged.
Contract: 2-month fixed term, with potential to extend
Hours: 16 hours split over 5 days per week, with additional hours possible during some weeks

Verified Champions is a network of trusted TikTok creators backed by the UN Department of Global Communications. Our mission is to counteract climate misinformation by empowering authentic voices to share accurate, culturally relevant climate stories. Currently active in Brazil, Indonesia, and the UK, our network connects climate expertise with cultural relevance to reach new audiences.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an exceptional Community Manager to support our UK program during a critical growth phase. The UK program needs someone who can rapidly build relationships with creators and develop a vibrant community of climate storytellers. You'll be joining during an exciting time as we focus on connecting climate stories to major events across sports, music, and film.

Core Responsibilities

  • Community Building: Manage and grow an online community of creators from all parts of the UK. Lead on building an engaged community by networking through personalised communication, regular check-ins, and supportive guidance
  • Recruitment Support: Work with our UK Campaigner to identify, approach, and onboard UK-based creators to join Verified Champions, with a focus on diverse voices from cultural and climate sectors
  • Idea Development Support: Help creators identify climate storytelling opportunities aligned with their existing content and our campaign briefs
  • Engagement Facilitation: Run online sessions and potentially in-person meetups to encourage creators to collaborate with each other
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor creator participation, content production, and engagement metrics

About You

You're a people-focused connector who builds trust easily and excels at nurturing communities. Your approach is personable, proactive, and supportive. You're passionate about climate action and understand how to make it relevant to diverse audiences through cultural touchpoints.

Essential Qualities

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a warm, approachable communication style
  • Experience building and nurturing online communities or creator networks
  • Proven ability to develop trusted relationships quickly through direct outreach
  • Understanding of TikTok content creation and creator ecosystems
  • Passion for climate storytelling and making environmental topics accessible
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisation and follow-through

Desired Experience

  • Previous work with content creators, especially in sustainability or adjacent fields
  • Existing connections in UK creator communities
  • Experience in climate communication or environmental advocacy
  • Background in community management for purpose-driven campaigns
  • Familiarity with WhatsApp or similar platforms for community engagement
