About Us:

QuillBot is an AI-powered writing platform with a bold mission: to reimagine the writing process. Every month, over 35 million students, professionals, and educators rely on QuillBot's tools to write more effectively, productively, and confidently. We believe great writing should be accessible to everyone, not just professional writers.

From paraphrasing to summarizing, grammar checking to citation generation, our suite of tools enhances the writing experience from start to finish. As we continue expanding our platform, we’re focused on building a connected, intelligent, and seamless writing environment that supports users throughout their writing journey.

Overview of our Design Team:

At QuillBot, our design team sits at the intersection of creativity, craft, and impact. We’re a small, passionate group of designers obsessed with solving real user problems through thoughtful systems, elegant interfaces, and delightful moments.

We champion quality, from visual aesthetics to usability, from deep user empathy to innovative interactions. We aren’t just following trends, we aim to set standards in design for AI writing tools.

You’ll be joining a design culture that’s collaborative, fast-moving, and outcome-driven—where your ideas can go from concept to shipped in days, and your voice helps shape the product and the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end product design, from initial user research and exploration to final pixel-perfect delivery in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior design leadership.
  • Take a senior role in designing QuillBot’s next-generation writing editor, helping shape its core capabilities, look and feel, and how users interact with writing in an AI-enhanced environment.
  • Partner with other designers to ensure the editor integrates seamlessly with our suite of tools, creating a unified, consistent, and delightful user experience across the product suite.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design language system, balancing reuse of patterns with the thoughtful creation of new, scalable components.
  • Advocate for user experience by deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and the broader goals they’re trying to achieve, not just isolated feature usage.
  • Craft experiences that bring originality, joy, and elegance to complex interactions, using motion, micro-interactions, and visual storytelling.
  • Help nurture a culture of design excellence by actively participating in critiques, mentoring peers, and contributing to team rituals.

Qualifications:

  • Has 5+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products, ideally with complex user flows or productivity tools.
  • Has a portfolio that showcases systems thinking, polished visual design, and user-centered processes.
  • Understands and uses design systems, not just to maintain consistency, but to scale design across a growing product surface.
  • Is self-directed, thrives in ambiguity, and moves quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Brings strong interaction and visual design skills, with a high attention to craft.
  • Is a prototyper—whether through Figma, Claude, code, or motion, to quickly explore and test ideas.
  • Writes well or values writing, understands how language shapes experience, and how writing and design inform each other.
  • Has experience designing for AI-powered tools or is ready to use their understanding to help build the UX of emerging AI capabilities.
  • Bonus: Uses AI in their design process, has front-end development skills.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on a product with real, meaningful impact helping millions write better every day.
  • Join a company that’s still growing fast, but already stable and profitable.
  • Collaborate with a talented, mission-driven team that cares deeply about quality, speed, and innovation.
  • Help shape the future of writing at the intersection of AI and creativity.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

How do you know if you have a disability?
