In this role as a part of the product engineering team you will be focused on High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) testing, developing novel wafer and package level testing strategies of Lightmatter’s Silicon Photonics products. You will also help in setting up validation capabilities and carrying out validation tests. You will be expected to support customer deployment and related technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of photonics test systems, electronic circuits, mechanical assemblies, and bring up new testers under the guidance of engineers;
- Responsible for testing photonics products, processing test data, and preparing test reports.
- Manage and execute task lists efficiently based on priorities from engineers.
- Play a critical role in supporting and maintaining existing and new testers while helping organize and maintain a photonics test lab.
- Help communicate with vendors and procure equipment for various projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience working in an optics or a photonics lab setting.
- Experience with set-up, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting photonics test systems, or optical components.
- Experience in optical fiber handling such as fiber cleaning and fiber splicing.
- Experience using optical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, lasers, and optical power meters.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues in the lab, ability to pay attention to details.
- Excellent communication capability and a great team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
- Must be able work on-site 5 days a week in a cleanroom environment where strict cleanliness rules will be enforced.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent.
We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
Hourly Range
$50 - $57 USD
