Production Manager
Job Overview:
Lola Blankets, the creator of the world’s softest luxury faux fur blankets, is seeking an experienced and detail-obsessed Production Manager. This individual will be the daily point of contact for Lola’s global manufacturing partners, ensuring vendor performance, quality, and delivery timelines are upheld to the highest standard. You’ll be at the core of how we scale: managing day-to-day relationships with our overseas vendors, ensuring that quality never slips as volume increases, and partnering closely with our product and sourcing teams to onboard and grow new factory partners. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone with a demonstrated ability to build and grow international vendor partnership and performance.
Core Responsibilities:
Vendor Management & Production Execution
- Own day-to-day communications and relationship management with Lola’s international and domestic vendors.
- Review and manage weekly WIP reports; follow up to ensure all milestones are met and delays are escalated or resolved quickly.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to production schedules; flag risks and implement mitigations in collaboration with the broader Ops and Product teams.
- Rebalance production prioritization to accommodate fast track, small batch, or launch orders, relative to other open orders and needs of the business
- Update systems and tracking documents to reflect most current ETAs
- Ensure factory partners uphold Lola’s expectations on service levels, communication, and continuous improvement
New Vendor & Product Development Support
- Partner with Product & Supply Chain to evaluate, onboard, and scale new vendors as Lola expands into adjacent categories.
- Define and document quality expectations for all new products and materials, including greige goods and component parts.
- Ensure vendors are trained and capable of meeting Lola’s quality bar before any new launch or scale-up.
Inventory & Component Oversight
- Manage greige material planning and order timelines across vendors to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Oversee vendor-held inventory of raw materials, trims, labels, and other key components to avoid bottlenecks, and ensure alignment with agreed pre-purchase levels.
- Proactively escalate delays and delay risks to Lola leadership to enable corrective action and plan adjustments, as needed
Quality Assurance & Control
- Refine Lola’s definition of manufacturing quality and consistency
- Drive transparency into Lola’s supply chains, ensuring that every vendor partner has signed a robust MSA, adheres to the standards within, and is operating in a way that Lola and all our customers can/should be proud of.
- Verify and document annually any claims that partner facilities make regarding standards of workplace conduct, product certifications, etc. (BSCI, OEKO-TEX, etc.)
- Design and implement third-party QA processes at the factory level; oversee ongoing execution and refinement, including through frequent visits to all relevant mills and factories.
- Coordinate annual factory third-party audits for every vendor facility, with robust reporting and clear year-over-year improvement goals.
- Maintain and update Lola’s internal product quality specifications in partnership with Product team.
Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience directly managing production vendors and manufacturing operations in the textiles or home goods category internationally, specifically in Asia.
- Experience & comfort with regular travel to Asia, specifically China. Fluency in Mandarin strongly preferred.
- Direct experience managing overseas vendors, including boots-on-the-ground work in factory settings.
- Demonstrated success building vendor partnerships that balance trust, rigor, relationship, and results.
- Deep understanding of textile manufacturing processes (weaving, dyeing, cutting, sewing, finishing, etc.) and experience improving visibility and quality of processes with vendors in a collaborative, high-standards way
- Familiarity with QA/QC systems, documentation, and third-party audit practices; ability to design, deploy, and react to improve such programs.
- Knowledge of federal and international safety and compliance regulations, procedures and best practices as related to Lola’s current and adjacent product categories.
- Ability to read and interpret WIP, BOMs, production timelines, and spec sheets with confidence.
Compensation and Perks:
- 21 days paid vacation + all federal holidays (except parts of Thanksgiving 🙂)
- Full health benefits
- 16 weeks of paid birth parent leave available. 8 weeks non-birth parent leave
- 55% off Lola Blankets for friends and family
- Opportunities for career growth and leadership roles within Lola Blankets
