Engineering Manager, Infrastructure

Who are we looking for?
Merge is looking for a driven Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for building and scaling the systems that power Merge’s integration platform – ensuring security, performance, and reliability at scale. From architecting distributed systems to optimizing developer tooling and infrastructure, you’ll create the foundation that enables product teams to move fast while maintaining world-class stability and resilience.
What you will do:
- Lead and grow a high-performing infrastructure engineering team, creating a culture of excellence, reliability, and scalability
- Own infrastructure strategy and execution, including system design, platform reliability, observability, and deployment practices
- Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership to align infrastructure priorities with company goals
- Drive roadmap planning for infrastructure initiatives around scalability, performance, security, and developer velocity
- Ensure best practices in cloud architecture, system resilience, and monitoring are followed across engineering
The Ideal candidate will have:
- 2–4+ years managing and hiring engineers, with previous hands-on experience as an IC
- Track record of building and managing distributed systems, developer platforms, or large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Postgres, SQL, and observability tooling
- Ability to balance short-term needs with long-term technical strategy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills to align cross-functional priorities
Compensation
- The cash compensation range for this role is $200,000-$245,000
- Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all employees receive an equity compensation package
