Role Overview

Advizex is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Delivery Consultant, Virtualization to serve as a hands-on implementation engineer specializing in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 and VMware virtualization and automation solutions.

This role is responsible for delivering virtualization solutions from design through deployment, providing both deep technical execution and consultative leadership. Consultants work directly on client projects in partnership with pre-sales engineering and project management to ensure successful, coordinated solution delivery.

This is a fully remote position with up to 10% travel. Candidate must be able to work in Eastern time zone. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Delivery & Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end design and deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 environments
  • Architect and implement fleet, instance, and management/workload domain designs
  • Deploy and integrate:
    • VCF Operations
    • VCF Operations for Logs
    • VCF Operations for Networks
  • Design and implement Aria Lifecycle Manager (LCM) and VCF Fleet Management
  • Deploy and configure NSX vDefend, including Security Services Platform (SSP)
  • Develop and implement Distributed Firewall policies using SSP
  • Design and implement NSX Network Virtualization solutions across multi-site environments
  • Perform system validation, testing, and documentation of deployed solutions
  • Provide post-deployment knowledge transfer and operational guidance to clients.

VCF Automation (Formerly Aria)

  • Deploy VCF Automation using Lifecycle Manager
  • Develop cloud blueprints aligned to customer requirements
  • Create catalog items with custom form logic
  • Design and develop Orchestrator workflows, including:
    • Differentiating workflows vs. tasks
    • Binding inputs, outputs, and variables within workflows
  • Implement approvals, day-2 actions, leases, and other automation constructs
  • Enable automation-driven operational efficiencies within client environments

Consultative & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients during implementation.
  • Partner closely with pre-sales engineering to ensure smooth transition from solution design to delivery
  • Collaborate with project management to align technical execution with project scope, timelines, and milestones

Professional Development

  • Dedicate approximately 10% of time to ongoing technical study and certification obtainment
  • Maintain currency with VMware and related ecosystem technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in virtualization engineering, infrastructure implementation, or consulting delivery roles
  • Hands-on expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 (production or lab experience acceptable)
  • Deep experience with:
    • VMware vSphere
    • NSX (including multi-site designs)
    • VCF Operations Suite
    • Aria Lifecycle Manager
    • VCF Automation / Aria Automation
  • Proven experience designing and implementing distributed firewall policies
  • Strong understanding of automation constructs including workflows, approvals, and day-2 operations
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

Preferred Certifications:

Candidates holding one or more of the following certifications are strongly preferred:

  • VMware VCP-VCF – VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator
  • VMware VCP-Data Center Virtualization
  • VMware VCP-9 (Operations and/or Automation)

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range in New York City for this position is $125,000- $150,000 OTE ( total compensation inclusive of base salary and bonus/commission). Compensation in other geographies may vary.
