Role Overview 

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing Managed Services Provider. We are seeking an experienced Managed Services Enterprise Architect with a focus in Virtualization to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering expert-level support and strategic guidance across virtualization environments. This role requires a deep understanding of, and proven hands-on experience with VMWare, Nutanix, or similar technologies for hyperconverged infrastructure. This candidate should be able to serve as a trusted advisor, with the ability to simplify complex issues and speak to C-Suite executives. Excellent customer service skills are a must. 

The successful candidate will lead initiatives around processes, training, delivery quality, and customer service to support a growing managed services business. 

Location Remote: Candidates must be based in the United States. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Architect, design, and implement virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere, Horizon View, Nutanix, PowerFlex, or HPUX technologies. 
  • Lead upgrade and maintenance strategies across all customer platforms. 
  • Provide advanced technical services during pre-sales and post-sales cycles. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align virtualization strategies with business goals. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation for architecture, deployment, and operational procedures. 
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the Managed Services team. 
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing. 
  • Support hybrid cloud deployments leveraging Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platforms. 
  • Engage in client-facing activities including workshops, assessments, and strategic planning. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms, with deep expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Nutanix. 
  • Proven ability to develop and guide enterprise architecture strategies for hybrid infrastructure environments spanning on-premises datacenters and public cloud platforms. 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise virtualization architectures, including cluster design, storage integration, high availability, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management. 
  • Experience defining architectural standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps that align infrastructure capabilities with business objectives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging technologies and platforms, providing architectural recommendations for modernization, scalability, and operational efficiency. 
  • Experience guiding complex infrastructure transformations, including platform migrations, datacenter modernization, and hybrid cloud integration initiatives. 
  • Skilled in collaborating with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure architectural designs are implemented in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices. 
  • Ability to lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and solution governance processes across multiple teams and stakeholders. 
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including the development of architecture diagrams, standards documentation, and executive-level technical recommendations. 
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while serving as a senior escalation and advisory resource. 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience serving as a senior technical architect or enterprise architect in complex enterprise or managed services environments. 
  • Deep knowledge of VMware and Nutanix architecture, including cluster design, infrastructure scalability, and platform lifecycle strategy. 
  • Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud architectures that integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models such as TOGAF, ITIL, or similar operational frameworks. 
  • Experience defining infrastructure standards, architecture guardrails, and technology selection processes for large organizations. 
  • Background in datacenter modernization initiatives, including hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), software-defined datacenter architectures, and infrastructure automation. 
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and operational tooling commonly used in enterprise or managed services environments. 
  • Experience presenting architecture strategies, technical roadmaps, and infrastructure recommendations to executive stakeholders and business leadership.

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 base salary, plus opportunities for bonus and/or commission. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
