Maintenance Parts Coordinator
Position Summary
The Parts Coordinator is responsible for managing the inventory, procurement, and distribution of parts and supplies required for maintenance, repairs, and production. This role ensures timely availability of parts, maintains accurate records, and supports operational efficiency by collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of parts and supplies.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Organize and label parts storage areas for efficient retrieval.
- Procurement & Ordering:
- Source and order parts from approved suppliers.
- Track orders and expedite deliveries as needed.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of parts usage, orders, and inventory transactions.
- Capable of creating Purchase Orders and Receiving Parts
- Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to forecast parts requirements.
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status, returns, and warranty claims.
- Respond promptly to internal requests for parts and supplies.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all parts and supplies comply with company standards and safety regulations.
- Support audits and inspections related to inventory and storage practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- Experience in inventory management, procurement, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move parts and supplies (up to 50 lbs).
- Standing, walking, and bending as required in a warehouse or storeroom environment.
