Overview:

Nerdy is rapidly growing, and we’re looking for a Sales Manager who will own the growth and performance of a high-impact sales team focused on helping more students and families achieve their academic goals. This role is for a proven leader who has directly managed B2C inside sales teams, owned revenue and conversion targets, and driven measurable performance improvements through hands-on coaching and development.

This person will lead a team of 15+ B2C inside sales representatives, managing all aspects of team hiring, development, and accountability. The Sales Manager will be a frontline leader who is deeply involved in the sales process — listening to calls, coaching live, and rolling up your sleeves alongside your team to hit and exceed targets. This role will partner closely with senior sales leadership and executives, owning results and driving ongoing sales performance.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience managing teams of B2C inside sales teams.
  • Track record of owning conversion or revenue targets and hitting/exceeding them with clear performance metrics.
  • Strong history of coaching and developing sales talent, driving measurable improvements (e.g., % lift in conversion or revenue).
  • B2C sales experience with direct, hands-on team management in high-volume environments (call center, educational sales, enrollment, admissions, or similar).
  • Experience building and executing sales plans with deep comfort in metrics analysis and operational execution.
  • A leader who thrives in being “in the weeds” — comfortable call listening, live coaching, and working alongside the team during critical peak periods.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tell clear, metric-driven performance stories and course-correct when needed.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently while maintaining strong team cohesion and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and develop a team of 15+ B2C inside sales representatives, owning all hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
  • Set, own, and exceed revenue, conversion, and client retention targets with clear, data-driven accountability.
  • Daily coaching and developing of sales representatives: live call listening, targeted feedback, role playing, and driving skill development that moves the needle.
  • Lead weekly team meetings focused on metrics, wins, challenges, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and execute sales contests and incentive programs that motivate and drive team performance.
  • Ensure consistent use and accuracy in CRM and sales tools to maintain pipeline integrity and forecast accuracy.
  • Embed and model company culture, maintaining high employee engagement and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to refine sales strategy and drive scalable processes.
