Video Production Manager (Remote, Contract)
Lead & manage video production projects to keep clients, and us, organized, on schedule and on budget. Fully remote!
Nexus is a full spectrum communications firm, developing targeted strategy, insightful content, and outstanding creative work for all platforms, from traditional media to video, digital, podcasts, e-learning and more. We work primarily with HR clients and produce communications materials designed to enhance their employees' experiences.
We are looking for a highly organized, process-oriented person to play a lead role in delivering seamless experiences to our clients and internal teams for all phases of live action and animated video, podcast and other types of communications projects.
This is a remote position, with multi-week contracts and potential for ongoing work.

Job Description
Working with our internal production and account teams, your contributions will ensure smooth development and delivery of creative materials in multiple formats:
Your efforts will include:
Project Management
- Manage the budget and track expenses.
- Participate in and/or lead production meetings, daily scrums, internal and client-facing calls.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive, formal scheduled (day/week/month and/or quarter) status reporting, as required.
- Deliver work throughout the process for client feedback, advising what you need in return from the client in order to move the project ahead.
Production Management
- Assist the Producer from the preproduction process from start to finish, including working with the client and internal availability on shoot days, hire crew and ensuring communication between crew and director regarding details, supporting the client with any communications to inform the business of our filming, preparing call sheets, and any other details for the shoot.
- Attend shoots when needed and act as an on-location Production Manager. (Within GTA)
Post Production Management
- Work with the Post Production Manager to plan the post-production process for live action videos, animated videos and podcasts - mapping out delivery dates as per client needs and resource availability.
- Keep the team and client on track as required throughout the editing process.
Critical Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 3 years relevant production management experience.
- Experience in Video, Motion Graphics and/or Podcast planning, pre-production and post-production is preferred.
- Experience with projects that require managing multiple conflicting deliveries/resources/milestones.
- Experience in a marketing agency is a definite asset.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong email and direct message communication skills (ability to communicate concisely and directly)
- Experience in MS Office - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Teams.
- Experience with Monday.com as a production management platform.
- Experience working with a fully remote team
- Knowledge of Human Resources, internal/corporate communications, and B2B are strong assets.
- PMP certified or working towards certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Lives within the GTA
