Data Science & AI/ML Tech Lead

We are looking for an exceptional technical leader to join our growing team at Nightfall. As a senior, hands-on, Applied Data Scientist in our Data Science & Engineering organization, you will drive execution, provide solid technical expertise, raise the bar of the ML Engineering team, and contribute towards shaping the long-term model and system architecture of the platform.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

• Drive great execution, work with the team to set clear goals, and deliver against them
• Hands-on, Data Analysis and Machine Modeling, technical design and coding
• Help shape the architecture of the AI Platform to enable the use of cutting edge ML technologies while ensuring it is scalable and reliable
• Implement best of practices in a fast-paced engineering environment and champion a culture of engineering excellence and productivity
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on technical development experience
• Minimum 3+ years of experience mentoring and technically leading Data Science and ML Engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in Python is a must. Go or C++ experience is a plus.
• Strong Data Science expertise in applying application/business data to build high quality machine models for use in real-time environments using variety of Deep Learning or NLP frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, spaCy, etc.
• Strong ML Engineering expertise with solid understanding of Tools and ML Ops frameworks such as Vertex AI, Sagemaker, etc. to automate data collection, training, inferencing, deployment and monitoring
• A solid understanding of ML inferencing through the use of vertical, horizontal scaling and GPUs.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field

Bonus Points

• Experience working in high growth venture-backed startups
• Experience training and deploying NLP based machine models or fine tuning LLMs is a big plus
• Blog, teach, mentor, or help others learn outside of your day to day responsibilities
• Familiarity with AWS and  managed infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, RAG & Vector Databases
