Finance Operations - Open Core Ventures

Location:  Fully remote, ideally located in CA, CO, NY, or TX

Open Core Ventures (OCV) is looking for a talented finance professional to build and scale finance processes across our venture funds and portfolio companies. Your primary responsibility is to design streamlined finance operations that can support rapid portfolio growth while maintaining exceptional standards for fund administration and LP communications. The ideal candidate will also leverage AI and automation to create scalable systems from the ground up.

As a key member of our small but mighty team, you'll help us reach our ambitious goal of launching 2,000 new companies per year. From establishing portfolio company KPI collection processes, runway oversight, to managing LP reporting, your work will build the finance infrastructure that enables OCV to scale efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• You will own the finance operations processes (including equity issuance) that we use to launch and support 2 companies per month currently, and 100+ companies per month in the future. You will use AI to build scalable systems and to automate repetitive financial workflows.
• You will design and implement portfolio company KPI reporting, establishing standardized metrics and dashboards that scale across dozens of companies.
• You will support financial modeling exercises, market research, analytics, etc. for fundraising and other strategic initiatives.
• You will manage relationships with external partners (accounting and tax firms, fund admin team, legal team, etc.) and direct them on day to day and special projects. 
• You will be the finance and compliance operations lead for OCV funds, owning capital call management, legal entity management, LP onboarding processes, quarterly reporting, and investor relations workflows.

• Passionate about leveraging technology and AI to build modern finance operations, with a strong drive to automate and optimize.
• Comfortable working in an emerging fund environment and excited by the challenge of defining best practices for a high-velocity portfolio.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in finance operations, fund administration, venture capital operations, or startup finance, with demonstrated experience scaling processes.
• Strong understanding of venture fund mechanics including capital calls, distributions, waterfall calculations, LP reporting requirements, CapTable scenario modeling.
• Solid foundation in accounting and corporate finance - ability to analyze company financial statements. 
• Experience designing financial and KPI tracking dashboards; proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and data visualization tools.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating investor-facing materials and documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance.
