PDG is looking for a 1099 Social Media Consultant. This is a 1099 role and pays an hourly rate commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The work to be performed will be approximately 10-20 hours per week.

Position Summary

The Social Media Consultant leads the strategy and execution for PDG’s LinkedIn and YouTube presence, with a focus on growing brand visibility, increasing followers, and driving meaningful engagement. This individual manages day-to-day activities across both platforms, develops and publishes compelling content, and analyzes performance to inform future campaigns. Working in close partnership with the Director of Marketing, the Consultant aligns social media efforts with PDG’s broader business objectives—amplifying thought leadership, supporting lead generation, and deepening audience connection across key life sciences segments.

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy and Development:
    • Develop and maintain a content calendar for LinkedIn and YouTube that aligns with PDG’s marketing campaigns, thought leadership pillars, and solution areas.
    • Create or oversee the creation of engaging, high-quality content (e.g., posts, videos, blog teasers, short clips, polls)
    • Repurpose long-form content into bite-sized, high-performing social assets
  • Amplification System Development
    • Design and implement a scalable system that equips PDG’s customer-facing teams (commercial & leadership) with ready-to-share LinkedIn content.
    • Package key posts with guidance for timing, hashtags, personalization to drive peer-to-peer amplification and increase reach.
    • Track and support employee activation to expand visibility and establish broader thought leadership presence across networks.
  • Audience Growth & Engagement
    • Use organic growth tactics—strategic tagging, employee amplification, relevant hashtags, and audience tareting to expand PDG’s reach and follower base
    • Optimize content based on engagement metrics and audience feedback to continually improve performance.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Monitor key KPIs across platforms (engagement rate, reach, shares, video views, follower growth).
    • Deliver monthly insights and recommendations to inform content strategy
  • Campaign Coordination:
    • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, sales, and leadership) to align social media initiatives with company happenings, and events, and marketing campaigns.
    • Collaborate with internal SMEs and sales teams to source insights and amplification support.
  • Platform Optimization and Trend Monitoring:
    • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and industry best practices to ensure PDG remains relevant and competitive on LinkedIn and YouTube.
    • Proactively test new formats and tactics to keep PDG’s content fresh, discoverable, and high performing

 Requirements

The Social Media Consultant will have the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing LinkedIn and YouTube for B2B organizations (preferably in consulting, professional services, or life sciences organizations).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate topics into engaging content.
  • Skilled in creating visually engaging social media content using Canva or equivalent tools, ensuring consistent branding and optimized performance across platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools and ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and LinkedIn/YouTube algorithms to optimize content for maximum reach, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
  • Familiarity with the sales performance industry and / or the life sciences industries is highly preferred.
