What you’ll do

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Linux Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of Linux/Unix operating systems within a front-office low-latency trading environment. Specifically, you will:

  • Resolve production issues in a timely, effective, and professional manner under pressure
  • Perform hands-on analysis of production systems, fault resolution, growth issues, and root cause analysis for critical issues
  • Work with vendors to implement solutions for clients, both hardware and software-related

What’s REQUIRED

  • Excellent knowledge of tuning Linux for low latency, high throughput, and kernel bypass (e.g., Exanic, Solarflare, Mellanox)
  • Experience building co-locations from scratch with in-depth system administration expertise to deliver complete solutions from planning/design to production
  • Strong knowledge of low-latency trading environments with hands-on experience of order management systems from an infrastructure perspective
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Terraform)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) with hands-on experience creating tools
  • Experience with cloud services and provisioning tools—public (AWS, Azure, GCP) or private (OpenStack, VMware)
  • Experience with monitoring and instrumentation of infrastructure/applications (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Understanding of market data and/or third-party feed handlers running within a low-latency co-location environment
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Kerberos
  • Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and analytical skills to independently solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, identify creative solutions, and effectively collaborate with internal and external contacts
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards
