Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychologist (Band 8a) to join our client in Widnes, Cheshire. This is a full-time opportunity to lead and shape psychological services within an Adult Mental Health setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to Clinical Leads and Hospital Governance Meetings.
  • Support the provision of psychology services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure service users are fully engaged in their care pathways.
  • Deliver direct psychological interventions and staff training programmes.
  • Lead on service development and implement evidence-based clinical initiatives.
  • Participate in recruitment and supervision of junior psychology staff.
  • Develop and implement policies to enhance staff safety and risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external agencies to improve treatment pathways.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology (or equivalent).
  • Charterable status with the British Psychological Society.
  • Proven experience in working with complex mental health needs and trauma.
  • Strong skills in psychological assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention.
  • Experience in supervising junior staff and contributing to service development.
  • Competency in cognitive functioning tools and a range of therapeutic modalities.
