Engineering Manager - Cloud AI
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about developer tools and loves applying modern AI/ML capabilities (LLMs, model fine-tuning, RAG, and more) to improve the developer experience. You will lead the team building the future of the Pulumi Copilot and Pulumi AI products, integrating AI capabilities across the Pulumi Cloud.
Since AI is moving so fast, this individual must be able to balance keeping up with new advances in AI with the need to continuously ship new capabilities.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Manage the engineering process, working with product, executives and engineers to set realistic deadlines, and keep the Service team on track to meet its deliverables.
Customer-Centric Approach:
- Advocate for customer needs and perspectives in all engineering efforts.
- Ensure that our products and services delight our customers and drive their success.
Technical Leadership:
- Guide design and architecture discussions, ensuring technical excellence.
- Collaborate with principal engineers and contribute to code when necessary.
- Ensure steady operations and drive a DevOps culture within the team.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager or in a similar leadership role.
- 2+ years in AI/ML and surrounding technologies
- Strong technical background with the ability to guide design and architecture.
- Hands-on experience in coding and technical problem-solving.
- Comfort with building and iterating on both Open Source and Enterprise products.
- Comfort with all/some of the following: Amazon Web Services, MySQL, elasticsearch, AI/ML, building robust and resilient systems.
- Exceptional communication, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment is a plus.
Compensation:
- Base Salary Hiring Range: $180,500 - $227,850
- All full-time employee offers at Pulumi include base salary, bonus or variable, equity and benefits (details below).
