Quince is a retail and technology company co-founded by a team that has extensive experience in retail, technology and building early stage companies. You’ll work with a team of world-class talent from Stanford GSB, Google, D.E. Shaw, Stitch Fix, Urban Outfitters, Wayfair, McKinsey, Nike etc.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Global Procurement – Apparel to be a core leader within Quince’s Central Procurement Hub—the company’s primary clearing house for product cost approvals and business awards. This role will be accountable for product cost margins across all apparel styles and will drive global procurement and cost-reduction strategies that directly impact company profitability.

The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of apparel cost structures, benchmarking, and cleansheet methodologies. They will lead the final review and approval of costing decisions, determine final vendor allocations, and hire/manage a small, global team of Procurement Leads to negotiate and execute strategies in-region.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Procurement Leadership:

  • Serve as a core leader within the Global Procurement Hub overseeing all apparel product cost approvals and business awards.
  • Define and execute global procurement and cost-reduction strategies across the apparel category.
  • Own accountability for achieving and optimizing product cost margins for all apparel styles.
  • Determine final allocation of finished goods to vendor partners based on cost, quality, and strategic fit.

Cost Management & Business Award:

  • Apply expertise in apparel cost structures, materials, trims/hardware, craftsmanship, packaging, and overheads to assess product costing
  • Inform cost benchmarks and cleansheet models to strengthen negotiations and identify savings.
  • Lead the scrutinization and approval of all supplier quotations, assessing total landed cost.
  • Monitor market trends for raw materials, labor, and logistics to inform procurement strategy.
  • Award business strategically, ensuring supplier performance meets Quince’s standards.
  • Apply experience with fact-based negotiations, leveraging cleansheets and robust cost analysis
  • Support budgeting and financial planning efforts by providing accurate cost forecasts and scenario analyses.
  • Support other margin improvement projects driving reductions in product cost.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Hire, manage, and develop a small, global team of Procurement Leads to lead negotiations in-region with local language
  • Coach team members in negotiation, cost analysis, and data-driven decision-making
  • Promote cross-regional collaboration to share best practices.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, Production, and Finance to align Procurement with business goals.

Technology & Data Management:

  • Use procurement and cost-tracking tools to maintain up-to-date records on supplier pricing, cost variances, and negotiation / business award outcomes.
  • Continuously improve processes by supporting the Technology Enablement team to automate/improve procurement workflows.
  • Work with data visualization tools to present insights, strategies, and recommendations effectively to senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Procurement Strategy & Analysis – Proven track record in strategic cost management of apparel products, with expertise in assessing cost structures, identifying cost drivers, and leveraging data to build and execute robust procurement strategies that deliver measurable savings.
  • Project Management – Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver cost-savings initiatives on time while effectively managing resources, risks, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Team Management – Strong leadership skills with direct experience managing and developing teams.
  • Analytical & Technical Proficiency – Highly skilled in Excel/Google Sheets, with experience using procurement and cost-tracking systems; ability to adapt quickly to new technology.
  • Communication & Negotiation – Excellent ability to collaborate across multiple teams, negotiate effectively with vendors when necessary, and present data-driven insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge – Solid understanding of procurement processes within manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, and apparel sectors.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in supply chain, business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with digital procurement tools and supplier management software.
  • Multilingual skills – Proficiency in a secondary language (Mandarin, Hindi, etc.) is highly valuable.

*Candidates based in the SF Bay Area will be required to work in a hybrid capacity out of our Palo Alto or San Francisco office, 3 days/week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday). All candidates outside of that region will be able to work in a fully remote capacity. No relocation is required.

We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. Bonus eligibility varies by role and is determined based on the position’s impact and contribution to our strategic goals.

Pay Range

$180,000 - $200,000 USD
