Who we are looking for

You are a dynamic Vice President of Strategic Account Management (SAM) who will spearhead our sales growth efforts in the B2B engineering and manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the industry, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a consistent record of driving continuous revenue growth through a blend of traditional and innovative business strategies. We are looking for a roll up your sleeves leader that is comfortable being an effective individual contributor and leader of people. This leader will help us stand up this function, build account assignments, generate sales targets, and lead individual and team performance through visual management and committed important metrics. This leader will hold themselves and the team accountable to deliver results that support our overall growth plans. This person will also directly handle some very high-level customer relationships and act as the partner concern point for customer engagements.

What you get to do

  • Monitor industries for trends that RBM should capitalize on and continuously evolve RBM’s understanding of our customers and market dynamics.
  • Conduct market and customer research to find opportunities and challenges.
  • Partner with business development and the PMO group to onboard new customers and create high-impact customer support.
  • Drive growth in target markets as an individual contributor and as a leader / coach.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive account management strategies to enhance customer engagement and grow our customer base to support revenue targets.
  • Partner with business development to identify new opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscape insights.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including customers, internal team members, cross-functional partners, and industry associations.
  • Lead and mentor the SAM team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance
  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective sales strategies that align with the company's goals and our customer needs
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of SAM initiatives and drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with business development, marketing, sales, GMs, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of business strategies
  • Provide regular updates to the executive team on SAM progress, challenges, and opportunities
  • Establish standard work for our SAM processes using automation and Lean practices where appropriate, providing training and ensuring adoption of SAM standard processes and tools
  • Support and implement overall commercial goals and go-to-market strategy

What you bring to the Team

  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Curious, fast-learning, and resourceful with creative problem-solving skills
  • Applied understanding of commercial demand generation initiatives
  • Comfortable with using metrics to strive for continuous improvement and proving return on investment on demand-generating initiatives
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Commitment to Lean practices, continuous improvement, and building / deploying / following standard work
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategy roles within the engineering and manufacturing sector with a keen understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
  • Validated ability to lead and inspire teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of successfully securing high-value contracts
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, marketing, data analytics, or a related field, MBA preferred

This is a hybrid role based out of our Framingham, MA office
