Job Overview
The QA Engineer develops and executes automated and manual tests to ensure the quality and functionality of Rewards Network’s web and application platforms. This role exists to maintain high standards of software reliability and performance, supporting the company’s mission to deliver seamless dining rewards experiences for millions of users and thousands of restaurant partners.
This is a hybrid position that requires in office presence 2-3 days a week in Chicago
What you’ll bring to the table: (Responsibilities)
• Develop automated tests to validate functionality across web and application platforms.
• Execute manual tests to identify defects and ensure comprehensive quality coverage.
• Maintain automation frameworks to align with industry best practices and team needs.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate testing processes into development workflows.
• Create test scripts, cases, and data to support thorough validation of features.
• Validate integration points with third-party systems to ensure seamless operation.
• Document test cases and results to provide clear quality assurance records.
• Enhance testing efficiency by contributing to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Investigate defects and performance issues to recommend actionable improvements.
• Train team members on automation tools and techniques to expand testing capabilities.
Do you have the right mix of ingredients: (Requirements)
- 4-6 years of experience developing automated tests and performing manual testing in a software environment.
- Preferred; Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g., coding bootcamp + relevant work history)
- Proficiency in developing automated tests using frameworks like Cypress.io, Postman, Gatling, or similar automation tools
- Skill in manual testing to identify defects across full-stack applications.
- Experience creating test scripts, test cases, and test data for validation.
- Competence in testing REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Ability to query relational databases using SQL or similar languages.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes in a DevOps environment.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and collaborative team practices.
- Knowledge of load and performance testing techniques.
- Skill in documenting test cases and outcomes effectively.

- This is a full-time, exempt position and the base compensation for this opening in Chicago is expected to be $100,000-$115,000 annualized, depending on level, candidate experience, skills, and other factors; this position will be eligible for an annual bonus program with a target of 7.5% base annualized salary for a total compensation of $107,500-$123,625.
