We are expanding the team to enable Stitch to broaden our product offering and extend our geographical footprint.

The Role
 The Android POS Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Android-based POS software solutions for the company's payment ecosystem. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, integrating secure payment technologies, and ensuring optimal performance of POS devices. The engineer will also contribute to innovations in real-time payment acceptance and NFC capabilities. They will report to the Engineering Manager and may collaborate with other product and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, maintain, and iterate Android-based POS applications, ensuring seamless integration with the payment orchestration system.
  2. Implement and test NFC and Passkey payment solutions for real-time payment acceptance.
  3. Collaborate with backend teams to ensure reliable, secure communication between POS devices and backend services.
  4. Ensure the robustness, scalability, and security of payment applications, adhering to PCI compliance, EMV standards, and relevant regulatory practices.
  5. Partner with design, product, and QA teams to enhance user experience and minimize technical debt.
  6. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance improvements and rapid issue resolution.
  7. Document technical specifications and development processes to maintain a high standard of code quality and project transparency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing Android applications, preferably in financial technology or payment systems.
  • Experience with payment technologies, NFC, and secure data handling.
  • Strong understanding of EMV standards and key injection practices.
  • Proven expertise in developing and deploying payment solutions for Android-based POS terminals.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols and practices, including P2PE implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A track record of success in financial technology or a related technology start-up is highly advantageous.
