Your Role in Our Story:

In essence, your role involves:

Writing Project Development documents for nature-based carbon projects in the tropics.
Real-case assessment of key requirements of eligibility for nature-based carbon projects, such as additionality, permanence risk, leakage, ex-ante estimates.
Applied research for market solutions.
Support in data gathering, writing and reviewing of Project Design Documents following the main standards of the voluntary carbon market.
Researching market and ecological characteristics of tree species for reforestation plantings and community benefits in the tropics.
Researching social aspects of the geographical context, benefit-sharing frameworks used in the industry, and potential buyers of the environmental outcomes.
Support in processing spatial data for land eligibility following carbon standard requirements.

Your Expertise:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:

Motivated to research and develop nature-based projects (forestry and agriculture) to tackle the climate crisis using voluntary carbon market standards.
Currently finishing a degree in environment, agricultural, forestry, ecology and other related courses, or recently graduated. Other backgrounds can also be considered.
Fluent in English. Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
Experience with geoprocessing and statistical analyses is a plus.
