Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This role will bridge business needs and technology solutions, driving clarity through documentation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of systems analysis, software testing, and user-centered design principles, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, Agile environment. The candidate may be required to manage business and/or system issues during project life cycle as well as post implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with diverse teams including business, operations, technology, data engineering, and management to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Expertise with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- In-depth knowledge of client-server, object-oriented, and web-based systems, applications, environments and relevant tools/technology
- Prior management experience
- Perform documentation and reporting for the purposes of system analysis, business requirement, testing, and decision-making with the use of relevant software such as MSOffice and SQL.
- Provide insights and reporting through Excel and Tableau, or other analytical tools to support informed decision-making.
- Perform system analysis and software testing by leveraging SQL, JIRA, or other tools.
- Present information and ideas in a way that is engaging and easy to understand across stakeholder groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Financial industry experience a must.
- 8+ years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in SQL and JIRA, as well as other tools.
- Skilled in reporting and development using Tableau, Power BI, or other database and reporting tools.
- Experienced in system analysis and development using Salesforce.
- Financial modeling skills a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a virtual team.
- Ability to manage to strict deadlines as well as prioritize and perform tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal, go-getter attitude!
- Strong in multitasking, completing sprint goals and managing changing priorities.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently and effectively.
- This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence at our Reston location three days per week. Candidates must be able to work effectively from a home office, even in environments with moderate background noise. Local candidates residing in the DMV area are preferred.
Pay Range
$40 - $60 USD
