Senior Accountant
OPS Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant to work in Hanover, MD.
Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of semi-monthly payroll for a mid size government contracting firm. Duties also include day-to-day general accounting operations and functions including balance sheet reconciliations; prepare journal entries; support various contract types (i.e., firm-fixed cost, cost plus, time and material); enhance existing and create new internal controls; managing and assisting with external and DCAA audits/reviews; drafting customized policies and procedures; and supporting incurred cost submissions.
Required Skills:
- 6-10 years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated skills related to managerial and cost accounting.
- Knowledge and experience in GAAP and government cost accounting.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Payroll processing experience.
- Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Experience working in a small, entrepreneurial business environment.
- Technologically savvy, particularly able to work well in Excel, SharePoint & Deltek/Costpoint.
- Extremely attentive to details.
Desired Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with Paylocity payroll.
- Prior government contracting experience.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
