Government Solutions Engineer - APAC

APAC

Job Description

As part of Tomorrow.io's Customer Team, the Solutions Engineering (SE) Team makes it possible for weather-sensitive industries like technology and on on-demand, construction, aviation, energy, outdoor entertainment, autonomous cars, drones, and other forward-thinking businesses, to operate faster than the speed of weather.

We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our global team. Our SEs fill a dynamic and essential client-facing role, interacting collaboratively with prospective clients and Tomorrow.io sales representatives, product managers, and R&D to deliver outstanding results and great value. Dedicated to our clients' success and satisfaction, the SEs are responsible for designing the right solutions for business problems. The role requires highly effective management and people skills coupled with robust multi-tasking capabilities. The SE is a critical member of the customer-facing team, and the position is one which brings with it an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within a lively and challenging environment.

In this role, you’ll support all pre- and post-sales technical efforts for government customers across the APAC region — including Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Thailand, and more.

What you'll do:

  • Demonstrate Tomorrow.io’s value to prospective customers in global governments (from state and local level to international markets) and enterprise, by understanding their business and Tomorrow.io solutions
  • Own the problem discovery and solution design process, including the design of demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements
  • Lead proposal writing for strategic opportunities (including US and International governments)
  • Advocate customer needs/issues cross-departmentally with Product and R&D
  • Be an expert on Tomorrow.io capabilities, current and future, and work side-by-side with the Sales and Business Development teams to articulate the business value of these capabilities

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in operational meteorology, weather forecasting, or applied climate services
  • Strong applied understanding of radar and satellite data interpretation, nowcasting, and the use of NWP outputs for real-world decision-making
  • Experience in the SaaS or weather technology industry, ideally supporting enterprise or government clients in technical roles
  • Familiarity with APIs and cloud-based data integration workflows
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders

Bonus Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline
  • Hands-on experience working with geospatial datasets (e.g., satellite, radar, or reanalysis data)
  • Familiarity with configuring or analyzing NWP model workflows, ensemble forecasting systems, or data assimilation techniques
  • Experience advising or delivering technical solutions to public-sector organizations in the APAC region
  • Proficiency with relevant tools or languages (e.g., GIS, Python, WRF, ECMWF APIs)
  • Fluency in one or more regional languages (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog)
  • Prior experience in pre-sales, customer success, or implementation roles at early-stage or growth-stage tech companies

Tomorrow.io Solutions Engineers play a crucial role in our sales cycle by both designing the solutions and guiding customers to realize the business value. You will constantly be collaborating with account executives, customer success representatives, product managers and research scientists, and demonstrating that you are a thought leader in both weather intelligence and the industries we serve. Ultimately, you will help our customers improve the way they make critical business decisions using Tomorrow.io’s Intelligence Platform.

If your experience is close but doesn’t fulfill all requirements, please apply. Tomorrow.io is on a mission to build a special company. To achieve our goal, we are focused on hiring people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
