Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator/Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in Linux and Windows environments, with a stronger emphasis on Linux. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring system reliability with adherence to SOC 2 compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Linux Administration:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Linux servers in a cloud environment.
- CentOS / RedHat 9.x/Rocky Linux
- Monitor performance, ensure uptime, and perform routine system maintenance.
- Windows Administration:
- Manage and maintain Windows environments, including a Remote Desktop Gateway for the Surveyor application.
- Windows Active Directory and DNS
- Apply patches and updates while ensuring system security.
- AWS Cloud Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, VPC configurations, and SFTP services
- Create and maintain security groups, ensuring secure and efficient network traffic.
- Microsoft 365
- Management and support of Microsoft 365 account regarding Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive
- SOC 2 Compliance:
- Ensure systems and processes adhere to SOC 2 standards.
- Perform regular patch management, system updates, and vulnerability assessments.
- Support audit documentation and compliance monitoring systems
- Security and Incident Response:
- Manage access controls and security protocols.
- Respond to system vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions promptly.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in Systems Engineering roles, particularly in environments requiring SOC 2 compliance.
- Hands-on experience managing both Linux and Windows servers.
- Strong AWS expertise, including EC2, S3, SFTP, IAM, and security best practices.
- Experience supporting SOC 2 audits, including evidence collection and process documentation
- Strong expertise in managing Windows environments, including Active Directory, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS, and Remote Desktop Gateway.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and techniques. (Nagios, CheckMK)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Terraform and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Preferred but not required:
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Collaboration with external vendors for hardware/software troubleshooting and procurement
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Linux Administrator, or similar are a plus
