Are you an experienced HDU Nurse ready to bring your clinical expertise to the frontline of humanitarian healthcare?

UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the British National Health Service, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.

We are seeking High Dependency Unit (HDU) Nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in challenging environments. You will need to be available to travel and work internationally at short notice for a minimum of 4–6 weeks (longer availability is highly desirable) to join our Register.

As an HDU Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, managing the care of critically ill patients who require close monitoring and support but not full intensive care. You will be responsible for ensuring best practices are followed in complex settings, supporting the implementation of safe and effective care, and assisting in stabilising and managing deteriorating patients.

You will also contribute to building local capacity by mentoring and training field staff, including Ministry of Health workers and partner organisations, helping strengthen local health systems during and beyond the emergency response.

You will be determined, high-performing, compassionate and collaborative, as well as being committed to learning and supporting others to learn. Language skills will be an advantage.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference through an influential role in humanitarian programming.
