The Opportunity

Your Next Big Move in the Shopify Ecosystem

You know Shopify. You've likely sold it, pitched it, and celebrated the wins that come with bringing merchants onto the world's best commerce platform. But now you're ready for a different kind of challenge. You're ready to move beyond selling the platform and start selling the vision. You're ready to join the ranks of a Shopify Platinum Partner.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Shopify Seller to join our elite team. As a Platinum Partner, we work with the most ambitious, fastest-growing brands on the Shopify platform. We don't just build stores; we architect and execute comprehensive e-commerce strategies that drive transformative growth for our clients. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of that mission.

Role Summary

Forget what you know about being a standard Account Executive. Here, you're a Solution Architect and a Strategic Partner. You won't be selling a license; you'll be co-creating multi-year, multi-six-figure digital transformation roadmaps for enterprise-level clients. You'll be selling our collective expertise in strategy, design, engineering, and growth marketing.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the End-to-End Sales Cycle: From identifying and engaging high-value enterprise prospects to orchestrating complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles.
  • Lead Joint Partner Strategy: Engage in deep working sessions with Shopify Partner AEs and commit to a joint strategy for target accounts.
  • Execute Co-Selling Motions: Drive GTM activation through active co-outbounding, co-prospecting, and co-selling with your partners at Shopify.
  • Generate Qualified Pipeline: Submit a minimum of 2 net-new qualified leads per quarter from our joint target account list.
  • Become a Trusted Advisor: Be the face of our agency, building deep relationships with C-suite executives and becoming their go-to partner for all things commerce.
  • Collaborate with an All-Star Team: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our world-class strategists, designers, and developers to craft bespoke solutions.
  • Maintain Partner Alignment: Establish and maintain an agreed-upon communication cadence with Partner AEs to ensure transparency and strategic alignment.

Success Metrics

  • Revenue closed against annual quota target
  • Pipeline coverage (3-4x quota target)
  • Win rate on qualified Adobe opportunities
  • Shopify field team engagement (joint calls, account plans, QBRs)
  • Number of accounts actively covered with Shopify

Qualifications

Who We're Looking For (The Non-Negotiables):

  • Proven Track Record: You have 5+ years of experience in enterprise sales, ideally within the Shopify, e-commerce, or agency space. You have a history of not just hitting but demolishing your quota.
  • Solution-Selling DNA: You are a natural consultant. You lead with listening, you're insatiably curious, and you excel at translating complex client needs into tangible, valuable solutions.
  • E-commerce Expertise: You live and breathe e-commerce. You understand the trends, the technologies, and the strategic levers that drive success for online brands.
  • An Agency Mindset: You understand that our product is our people. You're a collaborator at heart, and you thrive in a team-based selling environment. Experience at an agency or system integrator is a huge plus.
  • Shopify Evangelist: You have a genuine passion for the Shopify platform and a deep appreciation for its power to transform businesses. Direct experience as a Shopify AE is highly desirable.

If you're ready to level up your career and make a real impact with a top-tier Shopify partner, we want to talk to you. Let's build the future of commerce together.

Role Positioning

This role is a quota-carrying, client-facing alliance seller—not a back-office alliance manager, pure marketing function, or technical pre-sales role. You will be in the room with clients and partners regularly. You will own your number and be accountable for revenue outcomes. Success requires strong sales execution, relationship-building with Adobe, and the ability to orchestrate VML resources to win complex deals.

About VML Enterprise Solutions

As part of WPP, we bring unmatched capabilities in customer experience, commerce, and data—helping the world’s leading brands reimagine how they connect with consumers through the intelligent application of technology.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range between the values at the bottom of this posting. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
