Data Engineer

Seattle, WA

At VOGLIO, we believe that marketing performance is only as good as the data that fuels it. That’s why we’re looking for a Data Engineer who’s excited to build scalable systems that turn raw data into meaningful insights. In this role, you’ll be a key part of the team that ensures clean, reliable data is available to power smarter decisions for our clients and teams.

This is more than just a technical role—it’s an opportunity to help shape the data infrastructure of a company that values rigor, creativity, and long-term impact.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain client facing dashboards
  • Monitor log errors to differentiate between false alarms and legitimate issues that must be addressed
  • Develop strategies to reduce the rate of false alarms
  • Facilitate data fluency throughout the company by maintaining wiki’s about BI tools and maintaining a list of approved metric definitions, database views, and data warehouse uses
  • Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to develop best practices and ensure a stable technology environment
  • Detect data quality issues, identify their root causes, develop fixes and design auditing to capture future data issues

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years building and maintaining data pipelines in a professional setting
  • A degree in a technology discipline with a proven history of understanding business, or a degree in a business related discipline with a proven history of building technology solutions
  • SQL, you are fluent and would feel confident as a teaching assistant in a SQL 101 course
  • Power BI, Periscope, Tableau, Looker, or similar data visualization tools (Preference for Power BI)
  • Certified in or experienced with at least one major digital ad platform (i.e., Google Ads, BingAds, Facebook)
  • Python or Ruby experience
  • Experience with various AWS, Google, or Azure cloud based data services
  • Experience with BI/DW system architecture and DW data modeling
  • Experience with Apache Airflow and dbt
  • Experience with Git, Unix terminal, REST APIs

Is This You?

  • Curious and pragmatic—you seek out better ways to solve problems and document as you go
  • Detail-oriented, but not perfectionist—you know when "good enough" is the right call
  • Eager to grow and take ownership of your projects, even if you’re still early in your career
  • Energized by helping a small team scale the systems that support growth
This Role Might Not Be a Fit if...
  • You want to specialize in a narrow slice of backend engineering - this role touches a wide range of tools and teams
  • You need highly prescriptive processes - our data systems are evolving, and you’ll help shape them
  • You tend to over-index on best practices - even when business context calls for leaner, faster, or more pragmatic solutions
