Role Summary and Impact

As the Director, Data, Tech & Operations for the Personal Care Business Unit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data operations across Unilever. You will provide strategic leadership to maintain data quality and enablement, implement robust data processes, and ensure that our data infrastructure can support both current and future business needs. 

This is a high-impact role that bridges data operations and enablement, directly influencing executive workstreams and client performance reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functioning teams to troubleshoot complex data and operations challenges. Your work will set the standard for data excellence across the Unilever account, with direct visibility to both internal leadership and the client’s measurement team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve data operations, ensuring high-quality, reliable data pipelines and scalable infrastructure for ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
  • Oversee daily data workflows while identifying and implementing sustainable processes and best practices to maintain data quality and harmonization.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to analytics and client teams, bridging technical and business needs to drive actionable insights.
  • Lead data reconciliation across media buying platforms to ensure consistency and accuracy in performance reporting.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing data operations team (2-3 direct reports).
  • Represent data operations in executive leadership forums and client-facing initiatives, championing data-driven decision-making.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, creative problem-solving, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with performance analytics teams to enable reporting, cleanse data for modeling partners, and support executive workstreams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and operations challenges, proactively addressing issues before they impact client deliverables.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in media and advertising, with a proven track record in data operations, engineering, and analytics within data-driven marketing organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with dashboarding tools such as Domo, PowerBI, and Tableau.
  • Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and Azure-based infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in client-facing roles, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, evolving requirements, and high-pressure environments.
  • Effective communicator, skilled at translating technical concepts and data nuances for non-technical audiences across marketing, finance, and executive teams.
  • Experience in media buying platforms, data reconciliation, and infrastructure optimization to support campaign measurement and attribution.
  • Experience with Alteryx, AWS (transferable to Azure), and advanced Excel.
  • Data visualization expertise and experience building and maintaining dashboards.
  • Management experience, ideally leading small technical teams.
  • Experience supporting large CPG clients and working within multi-tiered organizational structures.
  • Ability to articulate solutions and answer challenging data scenarios.
  • Track record of handling large-scale data quality issues and implementing corrective actions.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
